Feb. 20th, 2005 12:07 pmDing ding, round number two... I've been at it since 11am and I've beaten eleven chapters into submission so far. Of course, I have to make a second pass over everything (*waves to
aspartaimee*) to get the last few nits and such, but...go me :) The hardest thing was coming up with a description of the hero (who, as Carrie pointed out while I was over there, I had completely and utterly neglected to describe!)
See what you guys think of this...
The man walking towards the office was definitely not John's contemporary. He was, Nat decided, about her own age. Taller than she was, by several inches, he had a broad-shouldered build that suggested strength and fitness, while his face had an honest, open look to it. With dark, almond-shaped eyes, short, fine dark hair and tan-coloured skin, Nat was almost moved to suggest he was Annie's son, except that there was definitely nothing Asian about the square, almost Germanic line to his jaw. Dressed in slacks and a roll-neck sweater, and with a welcoming, comforting expression on his face, he really looked like someone who would do his best to help and Nat found the last remnants of her anxiety dying a quiet death.
I'm still not sure I like it, but meh. I'll let it percolate around my brain for a while longer yet :)
