(Sorry, this is reaction to lack of sleep, migrane meds and a general feeling of demob-happy due to the small matter of a nice, long, clientless break...)

Anyhoo.

First up: For those of you waiting for "We Three Kings" (aka Rach's ID'verse Christmas fic), you're going to have to wait a bit longer. Like, 365 days. It's not going to get finished in time for posting tonight (or even over the holidays in general), so I'm going to hang on to it and finish it as *next* year's Christmas story. For this year...*grin* You'll see in roughly eight hours' time.

Elton John - Step Into Christmas [Friends of mine had an LP of Christmas songs which had a scratch on it, so for a long, long time, I never knew the whole of this song, just this one line!]

Jon Bon Jovi - Please Come Home For Christmas [Another one I'm not terribly keen on - it was hugely overplayed on MTV when it was done, then again, I guess they had to get their money's worth out of Cindy Crawford...]

Chris Rea - Driving Home For Christmas [My boss challenged me to produce a Christmas cd that was different; so I dug this track up and got to really like it, too]

Nope, none others that I should have gotten after I made my posts. Kinda funny... the one's you're surprised no one got, I've never heard or heard of before in my life. That snow is falling all around one, the lyric just sounds like it should be in a well-known Christmas song. The words just made me remember a lot of classic songs that don't have that lyric, but have that feel, I suppose, of snow and wintertime and such.

Must get back to printing pictures for family presents! Merry Christmas!! :)

Grrr. I should have gotten most of those nobody recognized. The ones I couldn't identify were 2, 5, 10, 13, 14, 17, 21 and 24 -- partially because I didn't spend my childhood in Britain and partially becaue I'm not THAT big a Bon Jovi fan. And who's Aled Jones?

The rest, though ... I grew up with most of those songs, had them taped (and maybe collected on various CDs) for sure. But I think the reason nobody got them is, you were very top-heavy on older British stuff, hon. :-) Not that there's anything wrong with that!

1) I *AM* English, hence the list is that way inclined. I can't do anything about that; it's what I know. I don't expect everyone to get everything, but most of the ones I indicated surprise over were fairly sizeable international hits.
2) Odd as it may seem, there are actually Brits on my f'list as well as Americans, ergo I'd have expected some of them to take a stab at them.
3) Aled Jones is *now* a tennor; in 1986 he was a decidedly cherubic chorister.

1) I know that. :-) But those hits were hits quite a while ago; and let's face it, once the "new" factor is gone, radio stations tend to play more of their "own", domestic stuff. Not that that's necessarily better, but ... oh well.
2) Gee, really? *grins* And yeah, as I assumed that, it kind of surprised me.
3) Oh, okay. I tend to tune out anything sung by children; for the most part, I can't stand the cuteness. :-)
