Well, I've done it. Shadow Games, draft 1, is done.
*hands round the champers*
It's 68000 words (yes, this is very much shorter than I was originally planning), 28 chapters, 190 (or so) pages... I printed it out this morning and it fills the ringbinder I bought for it!
Of course, the next challenge is to get it editted, reworked (as necessary) and sorted out. This challenge is going to (probably) include a scene that I'm dreading (
aspartaimee and
ganeris know exactly what I'm talking about, having been on the receiving end of my spaz attacks on the subject), but for right now, I'm going to bask in the glow of getting the first draft finished.
*basks*
I'm also buggering off on vacation for a few days. I'm heading off to North Devon tomorrow and won't be back until Sunday. I am taking Shadow Games with me, with the idea of doing the start of my editting (after all, I haven't read it through yet myself!), but I'm also taking some serious tree-murder too (amongst other things, I've bought a copy of the Bourne Trilogy - talk about doorstop size!) so how much editing I'm going to manage is open for debate. (on the third hand, however, the weather forecast for tomorrow/Friday is ropey to say the least - so I could well be inside rather a lot!)
See you when I get back!
