Well, probably way past time for me to do one of these. So...

1) Five by Five
My aim is to get part five done today-ish and, if all goes well, get a large chunk of part six also done.

2) Promises Made
*waves to passing CBB'ers* No, I haven't forgotten this. I'm also aiming to contribute part I-have-no-idea-which-because-I-screwed-up (*grovels*) this evening, again if all goes well.

3) Bandit Country
I now have four chapters just about completed. I won't say finished because I know I need to go back over them and fine tune, but I can't do that until I've got this first third finished (in roughly six-eight chapters time). Again, I'm hoping to add roughly a chapter to this today/tomorrow.

Of course, all of the above is predicated by me NOT spending this afternoon in bed...

Looking forward to the next parts of Five x Five. Bandit Country is a big project, but you're making good progress. Shouldn't pressure yourself when you're sick, though...

Probably true; but if I don't do anything with it, I feel guilty anyway so...

On the upside; I'm nearly done on chapter 5 of BC. Now, if I can manage to get Five by Five progressed too...

Ah, the creative process is so demanding on us artistes...

Oh yes, dahling ;)

(I did have a good link that connected to that, but it seems to not be working right now - I'll pass it on later :))

Of course, the artistic process goes a lot better when people don't point you in the direction of collections of grammatical goofs... ;)

Very good page there - and I agree with most of it. Brought up some interesting points about sex scenes, especially pertinent since I'm still struggling with my own love-sex scene advice page. Makes me want to go back and rewrite some of the love scenes I've done, although I don't think I ever went past mauve.

I know what you mean; there is one line Nessie quotes that actually had me checking my own work (it actually proved to be from a slash story so it wasn't my line, but it was so darn close!).

It's a page I regularly point young writers to, to try and cure them of the ott descriptions that some of them go in for. Not sure how successful I've been though...

Think I know which line - and I also did a double-take. But actually I think the line itself is not so bad, I mean, you have to have a little artistic license.

Yeah, many writers will take only the advice they want to take - but it may be helpful.

It's not actually from anything I've written recently - Nessie's essay is upwards of two years old, so the last batch of smut I wrote was written with it born in mind!
