Lord of the Rings Help...
Aug. 2nd, 2010 07:52 amOkay, so I know that some of the people who read this journal are Lord of the Rings fans to a greater or lesser degree, so I'm hoping that one of you may be able to help me out with a quote:
Specifically, it's a quote from Bilbo Baggins that says something about feeling like thinly scraped butter and needing a holiday.
I used to have it on a slip of paper, but between office moves and desk moves and general tidying, said slip of paper seems to have vanished, so if anyone can tell me what the proper wording for the quote is, I would be extremely grateful.
Thank you!
ETA Thanks to both
b_liz and
willowmina - quote found.
Thanks again :)

Date: 2010-08-02 07:21 am (UTC)'I am old, Gandalf. I don't look it, but I am beginning to feel it in my heart of hearts. Well-preserved indeed!' he snorted. 'Why, I feel all thin, sort of stretched, if you know what I mean: like butter that has been scraped over too much bread. That can't be right. I need a change, or something.'
