So This Is Goodbye...
May. 31st, 2007 08:03 amIn light of yesterday's events and everything that's been said/not said by the LJ authorities, I've decided that I'm going to be moving out of LJ.
I'm not an especially controversial fandom figure; I don't write porn, I don't write RPS, I don't tend to touch most hot button topics. But what I *DO* do is write and I do not want to be writing and posting somewhere that has shown itself likely to try and censor what I write.
So, from now on, you will find me over on JournalFen.
http://www.journalfen.net/users/athersgeo/
Why JF? I'd been thinking about getting an account there for some time (I'm a follower of Fandom_Wank and its associated communities), but hadn't got off my backside to do anything about it thinking that I couldn't really keep up two journals. This situation's changed my mind.
Are you doing to delete this journal? No. This account will remain (though it'll revert to basic status at the end of June). I have a lot of friends over here and I'd like to keep up with you all; I'm also a semi-active member in a couple of communities here and I'd like to keep up with those, too. I just won't be posting here more than once in a blue moon.
I'm going to maintain the same policy on JF as I've maintained here - that is, my journal will be public and anonymous commenting will be turned on, so do feel free to wander over there and see what I'm up to. All I would ask is that any anonymice please sign their posts so I know who I'm talking to!
And if something important does come up - I'm thinking, here, of news on A Chinese Adventure or any of my other publishing adventures - I will post here (in addition to over on JF) to let you all know.
So there we are. It's been a fun four and a half years and I'm sad its ending in this way, but I can't really see a way for this not to happen.
