Inspired by [livejournal.com profile] katie__pillar's quiz, here's my offering. Only 10 (well I am at work and supposed to be programming something!) - hopefully none of them are too obscure!

  1. You're the closest to heaven

  2. If we could see tomorrow

  3. Last night a little dancer/Came dancing through my door

  4. There's some squirrels jumping in the trees

  5. The more I think about it, Ol' Billy was right

  6. We walk together hand in hand/I'm dreaming

  7. Lost in a dream/Don't know which way to turn

  8. Can you build an Emerald City

  9. On a hot summer night

  10. But I couldn't find a way/So I'll settle for one day

Is number 9 Hot in the City by Billy Idol?

*giggles* Nope - though Billy Idol does feature elsewhere on the list, and the artist of 9 is male ;)

Is it 'took the words right out of my mouth' - Meatloaf?

Yus! Tis indeed :) (I was going to put "Would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red rose" - but I thought that might make it *TOO* obvious!)

*chuckles* I think you actually get quite a lot of my lyric quiz answers - we either have very, very similar tastes in music or we listened to the same sorts of radio stations :)

I think I've got one of Katie's now as well, so maybe I'm on a roll *g*

And yes - but I've never heard Meatloaf on Classic FM *lol*

*giggles* I don't know; I think some of Bat Out Of Hell does just about qualify as opera... I'm now picturing Henry Kelly or Simon Bates introducing it - and getting very funny looks from the boss, who probably wants to know what's so amusing about programming property lists!

*huggles* Ah well. If it's any help, there is another Meat Loaf one lurking :)

So is number 3 Billy Idol then? because that sounded familiar but I couldn't think why!

Yup; that's Mr Idol :) Any guesses on which song?

No! Because my Billy Idol phase was in 1988 and that is an awfully long time ago! *giggles*

And the song is even older than that ;) (I can't remember whether it was released in 82 or 83) - want me to tell you?

3. Billy Idol - Rebel Yell

I recognise others, but not quite enough...

Ah yes of course! (And my 1988 Billy Idol phase included a 'best of' cassette so I do know Rebel Yell too!)

*chuckles* I have a feeling that 'best of' cassette was my introduction to Billy Idol - I wore it out, too!

I was getting Kylie and/or Jason vibes off that, I just couldn't think which one it was.

Is number 1. Iris - Goo Goo Dolls ("You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be, and I don't wanna go home right now")? Part me me knows number 7 and number 9. I want to say number 9 is Lawrence Gowan, but I think that's 'on a wild summer night'.

D'oh. Replace the words 'go home' with 'miss you'. *headdesk* Clearly need to revive my GGD love...

I think 7 might be Straight up by Paula Abdul.

Assuming I have one word wrong in my head (which wouldn't be surprising) anyway.
