March The Month of Finishing...
Feb. 27th, 2007 08:40 amYes; I know I'm a day or so early to take stock of how I've done with my February aims. Meh. I have the time to do the entry now, which I may well not have tomorrow, so...
-A Chinese Adventure
This is getting top priority. I really do want to have a polished second draft done by Feb.28th, so the first step is for me to take my trusty red pen to my print out and start making notes. The second step is to formally write up the relationships AND print off the family tree that I prepped up at the end of November!
Done, done and done. I now have a shiny second draft all completed.
-Freya's Daughter
Both more and less urgent than the above (long story), I'm currently going through my NaNo story (which has been retitled, btw) and correcting it. I'm not doing any heavy-duty editing on it yet, but I *DO* want to try and eliminate errors like "head quarters" [why yes, I *DO* have an apparent phobia of compound words; why do you ask?] and obvious silly errors.
About half done on this; it stopped being urgent about half way through the month, so it went onto the back burner.
-Soaring Eagle
I want to get the next installment done and posted this month. For preference, two updates would be grand - but that's going to depend a little bit on how work pans out.
Well I haven't managed the two updates, but I did get one installment done and posted. Yay!
-Estranged
Part two's nearly finished, part three's partially blocked out and part four's got the final sections written. I just need to sew it all up and fill in the gaps. I don't imagine I'm going to do all THAT this month, but getting at least some of it done would be good, as would getting at least part two posted!
Part two needs editing (which I may very well tackle this afternoon) before it can be posted. Part three is half written; part four is somewhat sketched out.
-Mistletoe and Wine
It's bottom of the heap, in terms of priority, but, ironically, it's probably going to be what I tackle first. I'm planning to spend this coming Sunday wrestling with it in the hopes of getting a goodly chunk done. This also ties rather nicely in with...
This was the one aim I actually did better than I'd hoped for; I got two chunks written and posted, as well as the final three or four chapters sketched out.
-OU
One of the writing exercises I've got for the weekend is producing focussed batches of (I think) 500 words on a particular set of topics. What I'm aiming to do is do the exercise twice - once on the OU's topics and once through for Mistletoe and Wine. There are five topics so (assuming I'm remembering the word count right [it was 5:30am when I looked it up, so forgive me for being a little hazy on the details!]) that should mean 2500 words for M&W.
This also went well, to the point where I was actually at least a week ahead of myself!
So that was February. Here's what I want to achieve in March...
And, as the subject line might suggest, most of them centre around getting things finished. I've got a lot of loose projects and unfinished ends floating around at the moment, so it would be nice if I could have some of them, at least, tidied away by March 31st.
-Freya's Daughter
I want to finish editing this. Nuff said!
-Mistletoe and Wine
I have only got three-to-four chapters of this left to go and I really *DON'T* want to still be writing a Christmas story in April!
-Estranged
Again; I don't have very much further to go with this - mainly one and a half chapters to go (if I get a really good run at it this afternoon, it might not even be that much!).
-Soaring Eagle
It would be *NICE* to get this one finished too, but failing that, I'll settle for at least one update *grin*
-OU
TMA 01 is due on the 9th, so that needs to be finished. I'd also like to be well on my way towards TMA 02, too.
-Finding Home
Now that the inspiration for this has returned from wherever it wandered off to, I'd like to get at least one chapter written.
So, we'll see how I do.
