Panic! Stress! Eek!
Nov. 20th, 2006 10:38 amI go on vacation in nine days. Since I'm catching the 3am bus (!) on the 30th to get me to Heathrow, I've got to more or less completely write off the evening of the 29th (which is traditionally when I do my last minute packing!), which means I have GOT to get myself organised. (You may all start laughing.)
So, to that end, I'm going to start a list-o-doom to try and keep track of everything that I need to have finished before I go. It's not exhaustive and I expect it'll grow (as well as shrink - at least this week), but it gives me a place to start.
Out of that lot, today's priorities are the super sekrit art projects (though obvs, I can't print either of them until I get home!) and a quota for NaNo.
PHEW. Most of the list is for later in the week (if I get my suitcase out now, I'll only have to spend the next week or so removing the cat from it!) but it feels good to have got it down and in some kind of sensible order.
And now that I'm feeling a little more organised...
I guess I should update about where I am/what I'm doing/how I'm doing with NaNo and it's not half bad. I haven't hit 30,000 words yet (I'm currently on 27,500 or thereabouts), but I should do that tonight. Given what I've got left (story-wise) I *SHOULD* be able to actually finish the story this week. Whether that proves to finish the 50,000 words is another matter. My aim, though, is to finish the story first and then worry about whatever my short-fall is after that.
This probably WILL mean I won't be around much in the evenings this week, beyond a quick glance at email. On the other hand, I will be around all day (at least Mon-Fri) so if you do need me, I'm here! Sort of!
And with that said and done, time to actually do some work.

Date: 2006-11-20 11:08 am (UTC)Admittedly you would still be leaving after work, but it would mean that you wouldnt have to be on a bus overnight!

Date: 2006-11-20 11:24 am (UTC)As it's turned out, mum needs my car on the Saturday I'm away so it's probably just as well the car is staying at home.
Thank you, though *hugs*
