I knew there was a reason why I didn't iron very often. My back is now whinging like mad. Drat it.

  • Tidying:

    • Mind Body Spirit

    • Put away small stack of CDs

    • Remove the coke can from the car - this would be something I forgot to take out on Friday evening...oops

    • Clean the bathroom

    • Clean the kitchen sink

    • Deal with the ironing

    • Put away clean laundry

  • OU:

    • Read through block 2

    • Revise Persians and Lysestrata

    • Read through block 4

    • Revise connected ancient sources - I've done some of these in conjunction with the re-read on block 4, but I need to have a concerted push at the relevant Pliny, Ceciro and Seneca letters

    • Read through block 1 - half way through this

    • Re-read Pericles

    • Revise Acropolis

    • Re-read the Telemachy

  • Shopping:

    • Bread

    • Milk - Full fat 6 pints

    • Milk - Skimmed 2 pints

    • Milkshake mix

    • Baking potatoes

    • Low-fat spread

    • Spinach

    • Mushrooms

    • Diet coke

    • Caffeine free diet coke

    • New sports bra

    • Earl Grey tea for the boss

    • Low cal soup

  • Writing:

    • A Chinese Adventure chapter 8 - Nearly done and I think I now see how to get through from this to the big set-piece which is chapter 9/10

    • A Chinese Adventure chapter 9

    • A Chinese Adventure chapter 10

    • What It Takes part 2 - This is now about half done

    • NaNo Planning - For a change of pace, finish writing out the detail outline

    • Write the follow up to "The Start of a Friendship" - This is now half done

  • Other:

    • Go to the bank

    • Go to the gym at least once

    • Go swimming [which should NOT be counted as one visit to the gym!]

I'm going to have half an hour's sit down, then I'm going to go to the gym, taking pretty much all of what's left of my revision with me. I'll probably also treat myself to nachos (or something) for lunch while I'm there. (Just because I *CAN* cook, doesn't mean to say I have to!) I've also got to come home via Tesco to pick up the milk and bread for the 'rents.

Yes; yes ironing is very definitely evil.

Between a nice stretch at the gym and then a nice comfy sit down, the back does seem to be mostly better now - and what's left will be cured by the hot bath I'm planning for a little bit later :)

Ironing is bad for you and should be outlawed!

Hope the gym trip doesn't make it worse

I keep trying to convince my parents that what we really need is a tumble dryer. That way we wouldn't need to iron more than a small handful of (admittedly mostly my) clothes. Haven't had much luck with that yet, though...

Actually, the gym trip helped. What I tend to find is that once the soreness passes, the stiffness sets in - so some nice and relatively low impact exercises can do wonders. All I need to do now is have a nice hot bath a bit later and I should be back to normal operating standards *grin*
