Find Norse mythology story summary - I'm actually giving NaNo some serious thought, and if I go for it, this'll be the story that I do, given I have it all planned out!
So, what's the why of the subject line? I'm debating NaNo. I found the summary and all the attendant notes for the story but don't I have enough going on without this? There's so many reasons why I shouldn't do NaNo. I've got a new OU course starting in November; I go on vacation at the end of the month; I'm in the middle of quite a major fanfic exercise in Buddy's Song; I've got A Chinese Adventure in progress and given I've got the exam to get over atm, it's probably not as if I'm going to have that finished before the end of October...
...And on the other hand, I read the summary over last night and it's a really cool story, it would be my first foray into proper fantasy writing since I was 16, it's extremely well charted out so I'd have no excuse for not being able to finish it, and the challenge is extremely tantalising: I really OUGHT to be able to do the 50,000 words in a month. I did so badly with it last year (I think I managed 10,000 words) courtesy of the cold from hell and I *know* I can do better than that.
*sigh*
I'm really not sure what to do at this point. I wasn't even considering NaNo until earlier this week when I realised that there were rather a large number of my flist proposing to do it. I know what I *should* do about it (nothing) but...then the story. And the challenge. And... Gah. Yeah.
I don't need to decide firmly just yet. And, in the meantime, I think I'm going to put in some work on A Chinese Adventure (which, just as an FYI, was last year's NaNo project!).

Date: 2006-10-08 10:06 am (UTC)As for NaNo, I certainly could postpone it for a year - and that's probably what I *SHOULD* do. But there's that feeling that if I do that, I'm somehow copping out. (I realise that's not remotely logical!) Plus, there's also a feeling that if I don't do it now, the story will somehow vanish. (Which is also silly, seeing as this is a synopsis/plan I've been working on off and on since March!)
Yeah; my brain is not so much logical over this...
