That Update I Mentioned...

1) Finding A Friend
As this is a challenge fic for a challenge that ends on September 23rd, this definitely comes first. The good news is, I have it all planned; all I need to do is write it. (Hmm. That sounds like a common theme with my WIPs!)
It got retitled (several times) but it was done and posted on 09/22

2) Common Ground
For the same challenge, this one's a little less planned, but it's very much shorter than Finding a Friend. It's also set in Identiverse, so I really ought to know the characters well!
Done, dusted and posted 09/23

3) What it Takes
Part 1's written; part 2's about a third written and the rest's planned; part 3's a third written and the rest's planned; part 4's planned. I have SO got to just get on and write this.

4) "Untitled" School's Out
Tied in to part 2 of What it Takes is another short character vignette. I've made a start on it; just need to find the energy to finish it off.

5) Tomorrow's Promise
This just needs editing. It's all written and such, but there's not a great deal of point in doing the editing until 3 and 4 are sorted out since I'm not going to post it before either of them!

6) Mistletoe and Wine
Yes; it's back *grin* I'm not going to start reposting it until we get to December (*pause* Hmm; I may require a minion's help with that since I'm actually away for the first four days of December...but I can worry about that later), but before I can repost, I need to finish editing it, correcting the spelling (or at least standardising it - I think I've got three different spellings of Mimsie, for one thing!) and generally tidying it up. I also want to try and significantly add to it before I start the reposting process so that I've got at least SOME hope of being able to wrap it up before the end of December!
-09/28 - The editing is nearly done - I'm up to Christmas Eve evening and all I need to do is rewrite/redetail the Christmas service and check the consistancy of spelling for various German words.

7) A Chinese Adventure
I'm two thirds done on the first draft. It WOULD be nice to get that finished before the end of the year!
-09/28 - Chapter 7 is now finished, at least in draft form, and will be handed over to those who must be obeyed very shortly.

8) Estranged
The third part of the first trilogy in the Buddy's Song universe. If I can get this finished and posted before I go on vacation, that'll be a bonus.

9) Gloria
Again; it's written, though it needs a fairly stringent edit.

10) End Game
Again; it's written, it mostly just needs editing and preping for posting. But that really, REALLY can't happen until item 8's finished off.


The next goal is finishing A Chinese Adventure - I want to try and submit a proposal to GGB before I go on vacation and, for probably obvious reasons, it would be better to have a complete first draft before I do that. I *DO* have a plan for it (fortunately) and, like a lot of my stuff, I know what I need to write to get the main plot done; I just need to get on and write it.

I'm also continuing to work on Mistletoe and Wine in my 'down time' at work, so I guess a secondary goal is finishing off the editing process and get into the new stuff.

At any rate, it'll be a break from conspiracies, politics and secret organisations!
