Still Annoyed But About Different Things...

Well, OK, I'm still somewhat annoyed about ff.net, but my main cause of irritation is the work server, which has got a case of server flu. It's currently requiring reboots every six hours or so. This is NOT a good thing. And my boss is out of the office today, too... Guess who will be calling technical support shortly. (Oh yay.)

Then there's the small detail of my mobile phone. I'm currently attempting to persuade my insurance company that no, I do NOT want a replacement Nokia 5100 handset (seeing as that handest model has required repairs on FOUR occasions in just over a year), I would like a voucher so as I can buy a completely different handset. One that's likely to have significantly fewer technical issues. I was supposed to get a call yesterday on the subject. I didn't. *sigh* Guess who's got to call the mobile phone company...

On the writing side of things: CS stuff today; need to finally wrap up Francie to the Fore (at least for the time being). Once that's done, though I really do need to get down to ep 7 of Five by Five.

Less With The Annoyance...

Well, the good news is the server flu SEEMS (imagine flashing neon lights around that one) to be fixed. It came down to a client entering complete bs in something. *sigh* My boss isn't going to be terribly impressed when she finds that out tomorrow.

The other good news is that I spoke to my little man at The Link (his name's Nick and he's done an absolutely bang up job for me here) and the end result is I should be getting a voucher for a new handset within the next seven days. And (for anyone reading from customers suck), this was all resolved with zero ass-hattery on my part. (Unless you count phoning the store on two occasions - once yesterday and once again today - to find out what was going on; and as I was polite/pleasant/non-accusatory/appologetic I don't think that can really count as that asshatty.) Provided said voucher does materialise, I think I may well be doing a post in Good Service about this whole experience - to say nothing of buying The Link Cribs Causeway a box of chocolates and a thank you card...

On the writing front, I'm back writing ep 10 of Five by Five. Yes. I had another idea. Actually, several ideas. So did ganeris. Hmm. You know Jen? I think I know what we might end up plotting in three weeks' time...
