I'm hoping that the helpdesk folks don't reduce me to the jibbering wreck I was *last* time the boss was on vacation!

ETA 11:32 Seems like it was a problem with that firewall again. All now SEEEEEEEEEEMS to be fixed. I just wanna know why it took them so long to figure that out!

At least our servers had the politeness to go down this time with the IT guy in - but alas it needs an expert outsider coming in and we've got urgent stuff to go out tonight... la la la... this is why I keep everything open on my PC.

Ok, this could be a slight exaggeration, but it seems that every time you have a problem with the server, it turns out to be the firewall. Why don't they check that right off?

Though, to be fair, I could have thought of the firewall a little sooner than I did - but still, you'd have thought it'd be a basic question when you ring the help desk with a problem!
