So.

You'd think, losing weight, certain portions of my anatomy would be getting smaller.

They're not.

They are, in fact, getting bigger.

Like I needed them any larger.

*snort*

I knew that losing weight would require me to buy new clothes, but this isn't quite what I had in mind.

It's the muscle beneath them *hugs the Ray*

They'll shrink soon though! Possibly...

But...but I've not been to the gym in a month! I could understand it if they'd grown while I was regularly training and such - but I'm just dieting right now with none of the exercise.

Maybe you're right. Maybe they'll shrink soon...

Hmm in that case!!

Although, my friends were all highly amused when fiance split up with me, because I went up a cupsize in about 3 weeks! I suppose he finally did something right...

Maybe the area around has got smaller and they have stayed the same and thus seem bigger in comarrison?

That made sense when I thought it.

Maybe - except that I'm pretty sure that would mean my bras would be too big, whereas certain recalcitrant body parts are trying to escape a bra that was previously nicely comfortable!

Carolyn's answer makes sense...I like it. I shall use it next time I need to go shopping.

ah, the wonder of bras! i know this subject well. usually the band size is proportional to the cup size, so an E cup for a 38 band is not the same as an E cup for a 36 or a 40.

i get this all the time with weight loss and weight gain. normally, my cup size doesn't change much, but the band size does. so if you are finding your cup spillith over, even after weight loss, the culprit could be the band size. you may want to get measured. you might need a 34C instead of a 36D, for example. wait, are bra sizes the same there as they are in the States? if not, then nothing i just said will make sense.

i will never forget when i moved from a 38F to a 36G when last i lost some weight. i did not weep with joy.

From what I have read, the sizing is similar - it doesn't sound like it's too different - though tis possible that cup size is slightly different. We do however use that kind of sizing, so that's the main thing.

Yup, the sizing is the same here and in the US. Heck, we even still use inches *grin*

There's just one slight problem...I've just got my mother to take the relevant measurement and it's the same as ever.

We do use the same sort of measures. Unfortunately, I've just checked (got my mother to take the measurement) and I'm the same width as I was before so, since the bra previously fitted and very clearly hasn't shrunk (wouldn't be able to get it on if it had!)...I have the remarkable expanding boobs.

*sigh*

You're not the only one... 2 certain parts of my anatomy keep getting bigger. I may have to take to my bed because I can't find a bra big enough!

I was thinking it was exercise, until you said you'd not been doing any - maybe it's the result of exercising and building some muscle and then it losing some of its tone?

*doesn't really know what she's talking about*

It could be - although you'd have thought I'd have had problems a bit sooner than this.

Hmm...

Since I do seem to be slightly imbalanced in that direction, it could be - I'm seeing the doc next week (about that), so I might raise this with her.
