I was, in equal measures, dreading and looking forward to seeing this. Dreading because horror movies and I don't get along too well; looking forward to it cos hey - Dan Southworth in a role that HAD to be more than two lines and a gory death (or a rediculous imprisonment [don't ask - I'll make you watch it!]), seeing as he was being credited right at the top of the list.

Well, I can say safely and without spoiling it for anyone:
1) Dan doesn't die. In fact, he gets to walk off into the sunset at the end.
2) In terms of horror? I've had scarier warm baths. That's not to say it's not gory (it is) and there are a few 'boo' moments. But honestly? I have NO idea how this has been rated UK 18 - it's a UK 15 at worst...unless the film's been rated for what passes as music on the soundtrack - now that truly WAS horrifying!

Screen grabs and such will be going up at Strictly Southworth later on this evening.

Meantime, I need to start putting together dinner.

ETA Bugger later; here's two screen grabs here

So, let me guess. This movie is fairly dark, yes? And no, I am not referring to atmosphere or general tone, but rather an actual lack of lighting. Sort of like Underworld where I spent the movie squinting at the screen and wondering what was happening...

It has its moments. I'd say 50% darkness. Though that was improved by watching it on my laptop (when my DVD player decided it was having none of it!).
