A Happy New Year
Dec. 31st, 2005 04:41 pmWell, the end of the year has rolled around.
My resolutions for last year were lose weight and get published. I didn't do either terribly successfully - in fact, I ended up GAINING weight and rejection slips (last count, six and two no-replies). But I did start a keep-fit campaign in September and while that slipped when I did my back, I *did* manage to up my fitness quite successfully so...
New year's resolutions:
1) Lose weight/get fit - I want to try and lose somewhere between 28 and 50lbs. I'm never going to be a size 10 (thanks to my rather child-bearing hips) but I certainly can be a size 14/16 and various bits of me will work better and complain less if I'm not toting around the two stone overweightness that I currently do. I mean, I weigh more than my brother does, and he's 6'3" and a muscular rugby player!
2) Do more submissions for Shadow Games - I'm not going to give up yet.
3) Finish more stories - I've got a number of WIPs at the moment and I fully intend to finish them. My order of priority for them is:
-Five by Five - assuming ff.net's fully behaving itself after their updates, you can expect this on Monday or Tuesday
-Mistletoe and Wine - I don't want this to hang around too unseasonally, so the ideal would be to finish it this weekend!
-A Chinese Adventure - My ex-NaNo project and another shot at publication, hence it gets priority over the rest!
-Isard's Grip - I know how this wraps up, I just need to get it there. Then editting, then figuring out where the heck I'm going to post it.
-Soaring Eagle - Ditto on the wrap up/getting it there.
Once all that lot's done, I can get on with the third part of Francie with a completely clear conscience.
So, we'll see how I do.
Hope everyone has a happy and safe time tonight, and hope that in every case, 2006 is better than 2005's been.
See you next year ;)
