Long time readers of this journal will have heard this whine before, but (for the benefit of new readers):

Bristol + Snow = Very, Very Bad Thing

I got up at 6:55am and looked out of my window. No snow. By 7:05am, we had a **** blizzard (no, I'm not exagerating - I wish I was). It was still snowing heavily at 7:10am when I left the house for work (I would normally leave at nearer 7:30am). By the time I got to work (about five minutes ago), it had stopped snowing, leaving us with between a quarter of an inch and half an inch, which may not sound much, but if I tell you that the time I arrived at this office was the same as I'd normally arrive (leaving at around about 7:30), that should give you an idea of how bad Bristol is in the snow.

At the moment, we have dawn. But we also have some rather snowy clouds hanging around and I do not believe the weather's finished with us yet.

Ugh.

This means I definitely won't be going to Oxford tomorrow. If Bristol has snow, the surrounding areas almost certainly have it worse and as much as I'd like to see everyone, I'm not going to risk my neck to do it.

And on a final note: An advert did its best to kill me last night. I had just started to cough when on came: "Do you have a troublesome cough? You need a cough medicine that you can really feel working. Try Cavornia. Ca-vooooooooornia!"

Giggling + Coughing = collapsing into a chair and nearly passing out through lack of oxygen.

Hope it clears up so the journey home isn't so long.

Shame about Oxford though :( Hopefully see you another time *hugs*

Ah yes, the joy that is the south-west in the snow. Hope you retain heating and feel better soon! *hugs*

Any chance it has cleared enough to change your mind? *hopeful but will understand if not*

It has cleared out quite nicely - which hasn't entirely surprised me (Bristol really isn't known for snow - as you may have picked up!); the trouble is, I don't trust what it's going to do over night and, for that matter, what it's going to do tomorrow.

I'll have a thing as I'm driving home and a chat to the parentals, though, before I make a final, final decision.

Procrastinate and dither? Me? ;)

Sounds wise :) - You have my mobile number I think, so feel free to text and let me know either way.

Actually, I don't think I do have your new number - if you PM me on the CBB with it, I will let you know one way or the other. Having just looked at the weather forecast on Sky's website, it does look as if it could be OK.

And I really do want to come!

That sounds vaguely like the Ricola commercials we have here. Wild. Is it a swiss product?
