Car - Again
Oct. 28th, 2005 05:31 pm*sigh*
First, it was a wing mirror destroyed by a moron.
Then it was brandnew tyres.
Then a fused steering joint.
Then a buggered catalytic converter.
I thought getting a new car would improve matters.
But no.
Since then, it's been TWO wing mirrors (one my fault, the other courtesy of some moron stealing the mirror).
A broken passenger seat tilt.
A non-functioning speedometer which was put down to a loose connection.
Except that it's NOT a loose connection: It is, in fact, a fused speed sensor in the gearbox. The cost to me, in financial terms, is zip - because it's a warrenty job - but it's going to take three and a half hours to fix (they have to disassemble the gearbox to get the bloody thing out) and they can't do it tomorrow.
Which means that I have two choices on Sunday/Monday: I can either drive to Stansted in a car with a dodgy speedometer and gestimate what speed I'm doing (based on what I'm overtaking, the rev counter and the noise the air's making in my air vents) or I can borrow one of my parents' cars.
freespirit127, I hope you weren't expecting me to arrive in a sane condition - cos I think I'm going to fail on that count. Dismally.
