So. I have, as I suspect many people know, got two cats at home. Most of the time, they are the intelligent (if incurably nosy) creatures you'd expect, even if they DO fight like cat and...well, cat. But this week, they have both been demonstrating a...less than stellar learning curve.
You see, there's normally three of us at home: Me and both parents, and we've all got different routines, so the cats think this is great. My dad gets up early and they get to go out. Mum gets up and they get fed. I get up and leave for work and am summarily ignored. Dad finishes work at any time from 10am to 4pm (he's a courier, so how long he works for entirely depends on how much junk he's got to deliver), so if the cats are out when mum leaves for work (which is after I do), he lets them in. Then, once he's home, he can let them in or out as they please, until mum and I get home. Then, in the evenings, I go to bed, generally, around about 10pm with both 'rents going between then and midnight, which means the cats have ample chance to come in (or go out) until quite late.
Trouble is, right now? There's just me. Which means, if the cats go out first thing in the morning and they choose NOT to come in again before I go to work, they're stuck outside. All day.
On Wednesday night, I got home to find an absolutely irate Felix dancing up and down on our doorstep because she'd gone out when my parents left for their vacation and consequently, she'd been stuck outside all day, and it had rained rather heavily.
So you'd think she'd make damn sure she was in when I went to work yesterday morning, wouldn't you?
You'd be wrong. Despite my better efforts, she was out all day yesterday - and once more, I was greeted by an irate siamese cat on my return from work.
After TWO days stuck out all day, you'd think today'd have been different.
Nope. Today, she actually *watched* me leave, perched on the wall between our garden and the neighbour's. And I *know* what's going to happen when I get home tonight. More verbal abuse from her for her being outside all day.
*headdesk*
And, just because the answer was...rather amusing:
