For Printer Read Mobile Phone
Jun. 7th, 2005 08:33 am7am. I am just in the process of waking up and becoming coherent. I get the call "Rachel my mobile phone won't get connected" to which my basic response is "Yeah? So? And?" *sigh* After much fuss and bother (to say nothing of cursing), the recalcitrant and non-connecting mobile phone is in my possession with my SIM card while its owner has MY phone with HIS SIM.
The stupid thing about all this? Two weeks ago, we went to the Link store to get a new battery for this phone because it wasn't holding charge. NOW he tells me that "oh, it was losing its signal as well, but not as badly". Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. Had he TOLD me that at the time, I'd have said "Ok, skip the battery, get a new phone" (said phone IS around six years old, to be fair).
*sigh*
In other news, I had another of my weird dreams.
Actually, to be more accurate, I had two dreams and they interchanged. One involved Diana Ross, Bette Midler (I think), George Lucas, a revolving set, "Chain Reaction" and a science class. George was a science teacher who was doubling as a stage hand on the set of a new video for "Chain Reaction" which was being sung as a duet by Diana Ross and Bette Midler.
Yeah.
Warned you it was weird.
The other dream was (believe it or not) vastly saner. I dreamed I was watching "Looking for Bruce". (Brief explanation: Dan Southworth's first acting job was in the film "Looking for Bruce", which is rarer than hens teeth.) I dreamed up, in fact, an entire 90 minute film plot, about an abusive dad with two sons, the younger one was simple and uncoordinated, the elder one was an academical overachiever and an all star athlete [and if you think my brain was casting Dan in that role, you'd be way out!]. The elder one eventually runs away and ten years (or so) later, returns to realise that he left his younger brother to his dad's care.
Yeah.
It actually hung together surprisingly well [for something that I was dreaming] and I'm actually kinda tempted to try writing it (because any relationship between my dream and the real "Looking for Bruce" is entirely coincidental) - perhaps this is my muse finally returning.
Mixing both dreams together, though, was extreeeeeeeemly disturbing.
And then Korean spies hijacked everything...and then I woke up.
And in a seeeecrit message for
cmar_wingnut: Thank you!!! It arrived safely :)
More later.

Date: 2005-06-07 08:13 pm (UTC)Well, sounds very much like it :).
What part did your brain cast Dan for?

Date: 2005-06-08 03:51 pm (UTC)And you're very welcome. Don't do anything dangerous with it... Mine, sadly, has devolved into a letter opener.
