It's finally died, stalled to death in the middle of a junction and perilously close to rolling backwards down a hill. (Yes, my car decided to conk out in almost exactly the worst place on my route home. Almost. I can think of three places WORSE to conk out, but it's top four worst.)

I am carless at the moment. I shall be phoning Ford in the morning to see what they can do for me. Hopefully, they'll be able to help me - but having looked at what's sitting on their forecourt just now (literally, been down and looked rather than looking online), I'm not holding out too much hope. (And no, I didn't see the missing car on there - on the other hand, as it's reserved, it wouldn't have a price in and I was only looking at cars with prices, so I wouldn't necessarily have noticed it!)

Peugeot, on the other hand, do have some rather interesting deals on their website; the question is, how up to date said website is. If Ford can't help me, I shall be heading to Peugeot first thing Saturday morning.

We shall see.

Oh man... that sucks about your car *hugs* I hope Ford can help you. Do you have any backup brand if they and Peugeot are unable to help?

If neither Ford nor Peugeot can help me I am pretty screwed, mostly because there is *nothing* in my price range otherwise. At that point, I'd be going to look at older cars in a general second hand lot...which isn't really what I want to do because that means I'm buying something that's only two or three years newer than mine and I could be doing this all over again in a year's time (or worse)...so keep your fingers crossed that Ford or Peugeot can come through for me!

First and foremost, thank goodness you weren't in any way injured. Being without a car is wretched. *nods* Our household currently shares a vehicle which is not here during the day. There are no shops within walking distance. There are also no buses or taxis. Joy! So I can definitely commiserate. Sending good thoughts, vibes and wishes your way towards you finding a suitable vehicular replacement.

Thanks for the good vibes. I have to admit, where I was 'parked' after getting a push to the side of the road, did make me wonder if some hoon was going to swing round the corner and drive into the back of me. That would have been about right...

The trouble is, even if I find a car today or tomorrow, it'll be the middle of next week before I actually HAVE it...which means Monday through Wednesday could be interesting in terms of getting to work.
