The Official Diagnosis...

1) The stearing is scuppered. Completely and utterly. Apparently, normally, when the stearing joint goes, it goes in one particular direction. Mine has gone in every conceivable direction! (First time the mechanic's ever seen one gone that badly, from his tone of voice...)
2) I definitely have a blocked catalytic converter.
Something tells me 2 will be vastly more expensive to fix than 1...
Meantime, I'm rattling off work projects like they're going out of fashion here. Guess I'm setting out to prove that me working from home doesn't mean I don't get stuff done...
