Name 3 songs/pieces of music that:

a) make you happy
b) make you cry
c) make you tap your foot/want to dance
d) you associate with sex
e) calm you down
f) knot your stomach
g) make you nostalgic

You can, of course, elaborate on those answers if you wish.

a) Songs that make me happy
-Walking On Sunshine - Katrina and the Waves
I hear this one and I immediately smile; it's impossible NOT to feel upbeat while listening to this.
-Like a Virgin - Madonna
I have plenty of memories attached to this particular song, all of them good.
-Someday I'll Be Saturday Night - Bon Jovi
First of many BJ songs (bite me!) and to be honest, about 95% of of their stuff makes me smile, but I picked this one for the chorus, which is just unshakably upbeat.

b) Songs that make me cry
-You'll See - Madonna
-Oh Father - Madonna
Yes, two from the same artist; I heard them for the first time and they just struck me as so right and beautiful and sad that I cried, and that I cry most times I hear them
-Hello - Evanescence
This one sends a chill down my spine every time I hear it. Very haunting, very beautiful.

c) Songs that make me want to dance
-Sleep When I'm Dead - Bon Jovi
-Bad Medicine - Bon Jovi
-Let's Get Rocked - Def Leppard
Boogie songs all the way and about the only three songs that make ironing even remotely bearable!

d) Songs I associate with sex
-Hysteria - Def Leppard
No, I can't explain it, I just find the whole combination of lyrics and music to be one of the sexiest songs I know.
-River of Love - Richie Sambora
It's down, it's dirty, it's sexy...it's perfect *grin*
-Bed of Roses - Bon Jovi
It's the complete opposite of River of Love. It's the perfect romantic song.

e) Songs that calm me down
-Stranger In This Town - Richie Sambora
-One Light Burning - Richie Sambora
-The Answer - Richie Sambora
I was going to say anything off the Stranger in this Town album, but I thought I'd elaborate a bit more. These three tracks are different kinds of calming: Stranger is a reminder that everyone gets to feel like they don't fit in anywhere, The Answer is good for giving a bit of perspective on life, One Light Burning's a reminder that there's always hope out there. All three things are things that, at times, I've needed to be forcibly reminded of.

f) Songs that knot my stomach
-Sorrow - Pink Floyd
It's an epic song with thought provoking lyrics. (Actually, that applies to pretty much 100% of Pink Floyd's songs, but this is my absolute favourite-can't-do-anything-while-listening-to-it song of theirs.)
-Where the Streets Have No Name - U2
It's the sense of wide open space this one gives me that I particularly like.
-Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
This needs no comment!

g) Songs that make me nostalgic
-Live it Up - Mental As Anything
Aussie one-hit-wonders. I'm probably the only person in the northern hemisphere to know this song still, but it's become my personal soundtrack, mostly because I'm usually to be found with the sad face on the edge of the dance floor...
-Take on Me - A-ha
My first ever single. It was a 12". I played it so often I scratched it. I hated that some bunch of pop-bozos did a cover version of it a couple of years ago. Still reminds me of being six or so and jumping around my living room pretending I was dancing on stage...
-Ghostbusters - Ray Parker Jr
Ahh, school discos... This was a favourite request at my school and the DJs always obliged us.
