When I read this earlier, I'd been wondering what that was all about.

Then it hit me just now -- Remembrance Day in the UK, right?

Also in the US.

Technically, the main Remembrance Day is Sunday, here; today is the traditional one and many people keep a 2 minute silence at 11am.

Er, just checked my calendar ... ours is Sunday, too. *sheepish grin* Forget whether there are any special observances, though -- it used to be that TV and radio only played sombre stuff when I was a kid. Not anymore, though.

Today is Veteran's Day here - a serious holiday, although our Memorial Day is more somber.

My father served in WWII, should give him a call.
