athersgeoJust had a phone call that I think may have broken my ability to think straight.
The caller is one of our more computer literate ones. (So not P then!)
He's just called me to ask why an auto-generated game number has jumped from 70 to 75. Not so unreasonable - as it turns out, we'd been doing some testing so there were some 'dead' IDs on the database. The problem comes here: He has never, at any stage, needed to input the game number. He HAS had to input a 'previous game id'. When he went away on vacation, those were somewhere in the low 30s. They've now upped to the 400s. He thought that might be why his game number had jumped...
And I can't quite work out why he thought the two things were related.
