First, a big milestone: Shadow Games has officially hit 50,000 words.

It has also hit twenty-one completed chapters. I'm still expecting it to be around about twenty-six or twenty-seven chapters, so there is only five/six chapters to go. Less, in fact, seeing as I have a nice big start on chapter twenty-two!

On to the plans bit: With Shadow Games coming to a close, I've been working out what to do 'next' as it were. The immediate next is getting Five by Five finished and, in a perfect world, writing Feet of Clay, a story for which I've done an inordinate amount of set up work and that I really don't want to abandon. I also want to complete Soaring Eagle (even if it's the writer who says it, the opening two chapters are too decent not to complete it). After that, I have another profic idea that I want to go for, which is, of all things, a teen romance. (Yes, you may all well boggle at that!) I do also intend to write a third Identiverse Christmas/Holidays story (yes, I know I'm being unseasonal!) and have the basic plot for that already thought of. So, though Shadow Games is winding down, I'm not going to be inactive.

Of course, my absolute ideal would be entirely finishing Far Future - the plots I have in mind for Thicker Than Water, Gods of War and The Division Bell are too good for me to just leave them to languish. On the other hand, I'm leary of fully committing to getting the series finished (Feet of Clay would provide a good rounding off point) and ending up with a similar situation to the one I'm in with Five by Five.

To the CS fans reading this: You've probably spotted that Promises Made isn't featuring on this work list. There's a dang good reason for it: I've lost all my files and notes that I'd made for it. I have been trying to resurrect them, but it's a very slow process and I don't know that I'm actually going to be successful. About the only thing that I still have is a conversation I wrote out long hand between Joey and Thekla, which I may very well type up/tidy up and post here, as a brief one-shot job... Depends a bit on what you guys say :)

And, of course, most of these plans do depend somewhat on how the submissions process for Shadow Games goes...

*blushing*

I think I'm not so much busy as having a hyper active imagination. I have way too many ideas and way too little time. (I used to love the summer holidays because I could write 24/7!)

And one vote for Joey/Thekla :)

Very happy about Shadow Games, I know it'll be great, didn't realize you're so close to the end!

Personally I'd like to see Far Future finished, but I think it's better to find a good stopping point than to leave a story unfinished - so it depends on how much time you think you'll be able to put into it.

And I think a teen romance sounds like fun, I'm sure you'd put your own spin on it.

*grinning* It is kinda sneaking up, certainly.

On the Far Future front, I would very much like to get it finished and to show the whole arc - the ideas that I've got for it are (I think at any rate!) great and original (and yes I know I'm the author and I'm baised ;)). What I may be able to do is get it finished in blocks. I'll have to see, I guess.

As for the teen romance, it should be a lot of fun. It's actually spun off something that I was working up for a chunk of Far Future, so it's definitely got its own little spin, but it needs a lot of fleshing out before it's ready for public consumption :)
