Owowowowowow...
Apr. 24th, 2007 07:44 amI made it to the gym this morning.
Yay.
I decided that swimming was a fine idea.
Yay?
I decided that 14 lengths was a good plan.
Err, not so yay.
The only stroke I do with any decency is breaststroke and omgosh do my arms hurt now. From shoulder to fingertips, there isn't a muscle I haven't upset in some fashion. Even down to the little muscles in my hands - though they're settling down now; when I first got out of the pool my hands felt as if they were completely beyond my control!
The *REAL* stupid here, however, is not all of the above - it's the fact that this is *exactly* what happened the last time I started swimming again. And the time before. And the time before that, too. So clearly, I have all the learning curve of an extremely flat doughnut.
Please, feel free to point and laugh and mock - it's about what I deserve... *grins sheepishly*
On the positive side, though, my swimming costume fitted me fine; I didn't end up flashing my not inconsiderable assets to all and sundry; I managed to do those 14 lengths in a quite respectable time which meant that I was able to miss the worst of the traffic; ohh, and I think I have my OU TMA story.
YAY! :)
Right. 500 words on that before the boss comes in...
