Asmatic Ants
Sep. 22nd, 2006 08:47 amWell.
On the upside: My sinuses are no longer causing my face to feel like it's dropping off (such a pleasant feeling, I'm sure you'll agree!).
On the level: I've so far only required three tissues this morning and no Vick vapour rub at all. Hooray; I can almost breathe! Also, I *NEARLY* managed a full night's sleep for the first time in a week. Granted, I *DID* wake up a couple of times to hack up a lung, but I managed to go straight back to sleep after I'd finished.
On the downside: I have all the lung capacity of an asmatic ant. Walking up stairs is currently killing me. Bleh.
Down in the basement: I've coughed and sneezed so much/hard in the last couple of days that my back is more or less waving the white flag and begging me to to stop.
This has meant my weekend plans have been rather scuppered, which sucks royally - on the other hand, it's been a sufficiently unpleasant cold that, while I like giving gifts, it's one gift I don't intend to share if I can anyhow help it! (Also, it's bad enough sneezing when you're doing 10mph in rush-hour traffic; I really don't want to contemplate sneezing at 90mph on the M4...)
Not sure, then, what I'll end up doing this weekend. It needs to be something non-strenuous (see previous remarks about asmatic ants), so I may very well end up veging out on my sofa and watching DVDs again, although I *do* need to finish and post the two FriendshipFic stories and I would quite like to get A Chinese Adventure fully blocked out - but neither of those is exactly strenuous.
Right. Since I have at least *some* energy at the moment, I need to try and crack on with the pile of work I've got. The boss has been rather forgiving of my slightly non-productive state the last two days, but even so...!
