Thank God For Backups...
Jan. 18th, 2010 08:16 amSo. Yesterday morning, I managed to finish A Woman Alone. I saved the file and then turned the PC off. Half an hour later, I came back and my PC promptly had a headfit and did an unscheduled reboot (it's old and cranky, what can I say?...!) and when it had finished, everything seemed fine and dandy...until I tried to access A Woman Alone to start editing.
Out of all the word files on my PC and memory stick, A Woman Alone was the only one to get corrupted.
AGH.
Fortunately for my sanity, I had a back up copy here at work, and while I've lost the ending paragraphs, I have at least not lost the whole dang rest of the story!
With a little luck and a quiet morning, I may very well be able to resurrect what I'd written so that I can have it all ready for posting on Friday.
