OK. So having a dentist appointment first thing in the morning? Sucks. Normally, the only time I have one at this time, it's an emergency because one of my teeth is abscessing (and if you go back through this journal, you'll find plenty of mentions of that!), but today's was a check up. You'd think that would make it better...but no. Partly because I've already had the mandatory filling the check up turned up and partly because the new dental nurse at our practice is about as much use as a chocolate teapot. I dare say, as she gets more experience, she'll improve, but this morning, she was dreadful. At one stage, she was doing her damnedest to drown me by not aiming the suction device right. Yuck.

Yesterday's to-do list was reasonably successful; I did go to the gym, I got two thirds of the way through nano chapter two and this morning, while I was waiting for the dentists to open, I got a bit of a crack on with Mistletoe and Wine.

Today's list...

  • Nano chapter two and the beginning of chapter three

  • Mistletoe and Wine

All of which I'll get to, just as soon as I stop trembling like a leave in an earthquake...

It's typical - it didn't hurt before the dentist bothered it. Now it hurts like anything. Uhg. :( Thanks for the hug, though.

*hugs back* I'm sure, if I met him in a social setting, I'd find my dentist a charming individual. But in his professional setting? He's a bloody sadist: He was *GRINNING* when he told me I needed a filling. *mutters*

I should just get false teeth and be done with it!

It was going ok - then the numbness wore off and a tooth that hadn't been hurting (until the dentist poked it) started throbbing like it was in need of a root canal job. *headdesk* I just hope this is tooth-settling-down-after-proding and not an actual root canal requirement...

Thanks for the hug, though. Muchly appreciated :)

If you did that, you'd have all the irritation and discomfort of getting fitted for them...

And he was probably grinning because the filling would pay off his family's summer holiday. I'm sure that's why my dentist is always so friendly. *grumbles*
